Am I Normal For My Age?

Published by lilysgramma at 9:06 pm under Life, Miscellaneous Edit This

I  have been taking inventory of my life. Yes, it’s a little different than most women my age.  For one thing, I still enjoy watching cartoons.  My granddaughter comes over and loves watching Sprout TV, which is geared towards preschoolers. While I enjoy watching Caillou and even the annoying Noddy with her, I really enjoy watching the Batman cartoons and Avatar, which is a japanese animation about a boy who is to become the next avatar using the elements.   Not only do I enjoy cartoons, but I am an active player of this online game (which is based somewhere in Asia, I think maybe China). It’s called Wonderland Online and not only do I play the game, but I am the guild leader with more than 80 members!  I am level 45, soon to be 46 and while I do get tired of some of the kids asking me to give them free stuff that I have worked hard to purchase (with game gold of course) or make, and to help them level when I have done all my own leveling, I still love to play!  I have made the mistake of telling some of them how old I am and have gotten some pretty interesting responses such as: “People your age shouldn’t be allowed to play on here, it’s not right!”  but mostly the kids are pretty accepting, I’ve been told that I’m “cool” and some have even said that they with their parents and grandparents would be cool like me and play the game.  Some of them do expect more from me though when they know how old I am, so now I just say that I’m over 35.  I think that I am probably one of, if not THE oldest person playing this particular game, although I have made friends with some people in the game who are in their late 30’s.  My questions, is there anything wrong with me enjoying the escape I get by playing these games?? Should I stop playing them??  Is there anyone else out there who enjoys playing RPG’s in my age group??  I’d really like to know.  Am I normal??

Note: IGG.com has many other games if you are interested.  Click this link and it will take you there to check it out:) It’s really fun and it’s free to play.  Any questions, feel free to comment here and ask and I’ll do what I can to help.

    Hello,

The concept of the Lemonade Award is is all about finding people that display a great attitude and/or gratitude. In this day and time, that is very important to have.

I think your blog is great and I nominated you.

LoL! Normal is relative…at least thats my conclusion. I think you’re perfectly normal, and I personally love Caillou :)

If watching Adult cartoons is the most of it you are a saint. I understand, I get hooked on stuff. Sometimes it is reading or writing blogs. Keep up the great work here. J

For me age doesn’t matter if you enjoy it then do it and watch it. I still watch the Charlie Brown Christmas and Thanksgiving. I love it. Though I don’t readily admit it most of the time :)

Wow! I don’t feel so bad. I’m very passionate about video games and believe they can teach critical thinking, and offer alot of entertainment.
